In the spring semester of 2015, Joan (Cendana ’17) went to Yale for a semester abroad in which she competed, performed and went on tour with the Yale Ballroom Dance Team.
“Funny how bonds culminate and are solidified in the one to three minutes that you’re dancing with your partner. Sure, you spend hours and hours practicing before a competition or a performance and in the process, get to know the other better, but ultimately, all these hours are for that one minute on the dance floor or three minutes on stage, in which you and your partner find each other, dance with each other, tell a story with each other. These one to three minutes reflect the friends that I have gained and will probably keep past my time here at Yale.”
